With 94.57% of votes in the highly accurate pre-count now in, Colombia’s respected media channel El Tiempo has just called it:

At this time, we have:
- Gustavo Petro: 50.69%
- Rodolfo Hernández: 47.04%
- Spoiled/Blank: The rest
We await the official final numbers, as well as the declarations of the winners and the losers, but what was framed as a tight vote has come in with a larger margin than many expected. Colombia has voted for its first ever left wing President.
UPDATE: Rodolfo Hernández has conceded in correct and diplomatic style, a good thing for the near-term.
GCM (aka Gran Colombia Mining) has been selling off hard for the past couple months ……

So.. how’s the junior explorers working in Colombia gonna spin this into a positive? Crap like Libero Copper can close shop down there and mothball Forest Reserve Mocoa again. Speaking of LBC. A while ago they hired the paid scumbags Moriarty and Goldfinger on CEO.ca to pump, but almost 50% of the pump piece was political pro-Putin garbage coming out of Moriarty’s old stinking mouth. “Well spent” money. Won’t link to it but it was published at energyandgold.com on May 4th
yikes
IMO; the safest mining jurisdiction to operate in right now is Nevada, USA …. can anyone name a better place?
