Take physic, pomp

Thanks, Obama!

Sorry, Biden. Same thing.

A monumentally dropped ball, Biden was allowed tacit approval to withdraw from Afghanistan from a public that assumed there was an endgame plan, a soft landing afterward. Instead he delivers geopolitical chaos, human remains on the landing gear of aircraft and murderous scum now in charge of a country whose only way of controlling the panic is to promise “everyone is forgiven”. Yeah, right, these guys are the milk of human kindness.

Therefore, one grits one’s teeth and waits for September.

USA was positioned well to be there maintaining a few bases with air power . They could keep an eye on unpredictable China . This Bug-Out is just a gift to China and Iran ..They will get the rich mineral resources and a pipeline between the two .

It will be interesting to see the new regimes stance on the archeological work that has been holding up the development on Aynak – in my view easily the best undeveloped copper deposit in the world. Grade, size, met, mine-ability this deposit is an absolute gem.

You make a good point. Our out-dated, backwater of an industry may be about to turn into a test-case for greater things.

Well if that is the case then this will undoubtedly pave the way for Aynak to be developed – archeological considerations will now go bye the bye if the Buddhas of Bamiyan are any indication. 500Mt of open pit-able 3.5%Cu as bornite will be far too good to resist.

Did that copper suddenly just appear? It’s been there forever and no one has been able to mine it yet. Will money talk? Maybe. But it hasn’t before. And what do the Taliban think of foreigners taking their resources?

I don’t think the Taliban will mind their resources getting mined as long as they get paid. They’ll need to get foreign currency somehow.

Archeological remains hindered the exploitation of Aynak earlier, but I don’t think that will stop the Taliban.

Don’t blame Biden, blame Bush who started the whole mess 20 years ago.
The end was predictable, unless you’re a proponent of an eternal war & occupation.

If you want to change the subject, fine. However, I suggest some light reading before you consider The USA as the moral inferior to Taliban on a range of issues. Either that or look stupid in seldom-read comments sections.

I find interesting the way not only “latino” lefties, but also middle of the road gringos assume that a loss for USA is automatically a gain for China, Russia, Iran… Sorry, it ain´t. Sunni salafism won´t be good news in Sinkiang, Central Asia, Shia Iran,…
