Take physic, pomp

The Friday OT: Lang Lang and Gina Alice; Sheep may safely graze (BWV208 (9))

One of the world’s most famous melodies, And Sheep May Safely Graze (Schafe können sicher wieden) forms part of JS Bach’s ‘Hunting Cantata’ (BWV208). It’s been sung, played and performed in a million styles already, but this four-hands piano version, found at the end of Lang Lang’s new Goldberg Variations album, is at once simple and profound. Lang Lang is the archetype “classical star”, but forget the sidebar issues and just listen to the man play. Pure bliss.

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
