This evening on arriving back at her home in central Buenos Aires and surrounded by a crowd of supporters, a man (now detained, apparently a Brazilian national living in Argentina) pulled a gun on Argentina’s ex-President and current Vice-President and either missed with his shot from extremely close range or, as some reports are now saying, his handgun failed to go off. This news report has the images of what happened and these images suggest she had a very lucky escape.

With official annual inflation being over 60% (unofficially probably much higher) … almost any politician in Argentina is going to be a moving target ….
