From the web (not my writing): The portrait on the wall is of 19th century Vermont Senator Justin Morrill, one of the founders of the Republican Party. After the Civil War, he served on the Joint Committee on Reconstruction, requiring southern states to ratify the 14th Amendment before they’d be readmitted into the United States.

Some tell us that we can’t judge an entire group by the actions of a tiny minority of that group.
And then they take the broadest brush in existence and paint the entire group with it.

And by now everyone has seen the videos showing police unlocking the doors, standing aside, and letting the crowd casually walk into the Capitol. So much for the “storming” “coup” “insurrection” narrative. Meanwhile, this author had nary a word to say as Targets, ice cream shops and family businesses burned to the ground over the summer. If BLM and Antifa Marxists do it = two thumbs up. Guy standing quietly in public building with racist flag = scum & shame on country.

So why the false “coup” narrative? It gives justification for additional censorship, like the purge of accounts & followers on Twitter & FB yesterday incl. conservative cartoonists, comedians, reporters. All in the name of “national security”. Welcome to “Patriot Act: The Sequel” only this film has Jack Dorsey & Mark Zuckerberg in the Director’s chairs.

Yes, those peaceful protesters beating a police officer to death with a fire extinguisher, chanting for Mike Pence to be hanged and nearly killing another officer here: https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/09/us/officer-crushed-capitol-riot-video/index.html – very fine people!

And clearly not a big deal for the symbol of American democracy to be overrun during the very ceremony meant to finalize the results of a free and fair

Tom, why are you even engaging? Let the morons rant where nobody cares.

            Fair.

The absolute toxicity of (it seems) most people who invest in mining stocks is quite something.

Probably the people who run the companies too. I dread thinking about what is likely the political views of many execs.

Trump has assembled a coalition of angry, misinformed people and white supremacists. If you believe that most people are decent, then the way to defeat Trumpism is to remove them from his base by engaging, telling the truth etc. I would equate it to the excellent work you do exposing corruption in junior mining. Who else is gonna do it? The media?

The facts are this…in the last 50 yrs, productivity has increased, wages have stagnated, the govt has gone from collecting $1.50 in taxes from business for every $1 from the working class to 25 cents. Corporate profits skyrocketed. The media business model relies on corporate advertising so they’ll never tell you how badly you’re getting screwed. If you splinter the good decent but misinformed people from Trumpism, it withers and dies.

I don’t think this can be explained solely by the economic injustices of modern capitalism, even if they are part of the story.

Looking at the world of junior mining investors, that’s not a financially deprived group, yet they will more often than not have political views that are about as ugly as it gets (and prone to unhinged and delusional conspiracy theories too).

Please tell us you’re not going to now spend months continually posting about how mining CEOs are racist if they don’t specifically take time to publicly denounce this shyte.

What’s really funny is that these anti-deep-state clowns all gave all of their personal information (including drivers’ licenses) to Parler, which has now had all its data (70TB) scraped and put up on the internet so that every last one of these insurrectionist twits has basically given their ID to the FBI.

And now everyone who broke into the Capitol Building faces Felony Murder charges for being involved in a burglary where 5 people died. Max sentence? Death penalty. Ha!
