Rio2 Ltd (RIO.v): Alex Black talks EIA permitting at Fenix

In the above video we learn there are “polarized views on Twitter” about me (around minute 16). Which is funny considering I don’t even use the thing, don’t you people have anything better to do or talk about?

Far more importantly, we also learn a lot more about the Rio2 Ltd (RIO.v) permitting issues in Chile for its Fenix project, plenty of details about the process to date and how its recent problems came from out the blue, the role of the regional and national bureaux involved and the likely future and ways forward. And to clear up one small point, after watching the video earlier today I pinged CEO Alex Black and asked him exactly when the EIA permitting meeting is set to happen. So to confirm, it is indeed happening on Friday July 1st (i.e. this Friday coming).

For those of you on the mailing list, the link to the YouTube and the interview is here. This Q&A is well worth your time.

Excellent discussion. On the upside, you did get a gold star for objectivity and general straight shooting.
I did watch the whole video, undistracted, and the only thing that wasn’t directly discussed was whether the SEA could override or suspend the regional decision despite the authority being regional (or SEA being granted the authority to do so by decree or some other mechanism) should the regional EIA vote yes to the project.
