Solitario and Tinka: A tale of two zinc juniors

So many things in common:

  • Canadian junior explorecos
  • Both operate in Peru
  • Both have zinc projects
  • Both drilling and developing in conjunction with a Peru-based strategic partner (SLR has Nexa, TK has Buenaventura)

But there are differences in the companies, such as the way one of the companies is led up by a blithering idiot intent on wasting company money on the latest fashion craze. And Solitario is not. After suffering no end of basic strategic errors in the conduction of TK, it is long past time its shareholders stopped paying Graham Carman twenty grand a month.

I foolishly sold my SLR position in May. That’s why it’s up 50% since then.

If you have the stock it falls. If you don’t, it goes up.

I guess anyone purchasing stock with a name like “Tinka” deserves everything they get. Probably will finally be worth about as much as a Tinka’s toss.
