Win us with honest trifles

The Friday OT: Hilary Hahn plays the 2nd movement of Edgar Meyer’s violin concerto

The IKN main muse is back and oh my stars, just listen to what HH gets out of her fiddle this time:

Put a violin in the hands of the world’s finest and no other instrument can touch it for blissful, dreamscape music. In this case, rather than plain old “adagio” or “andante”, Meyer’s tempo notes for the movement are, “Dramma musicale, eroico, lirico e gioioso“. No need for me and my profane ears to wax lyrical after reading that, just take the word of the experts. This piece is unmitigated pleasure, it’s best shared and the YouTube is here.
