A 47 year old priest with several health problems, including being overweight, type II diabetes and a chronic bronchial issue tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago in Villa María del Triunfo in Lima (part of his Lurin diocese). According to reliable local word he passed on yesterday afternoon, but authorities are refusing to confirm this as they don’t want the public to panic. This is the type of shortsightedness that makes things 10x worse down the line.
Also, Peru has just announced the prohibition of all flights from Europe and Asia for 30 days, beginning March 19th.
