Workers shut down Glencore’s Antapaccay mine down on Friday

After two of its workforce were diagnosed Covid-19 positive, employees at the Glencore Antapaccay mine in South Peru took matters into their own hands on Friday and downed tools in protest against the lax health  & safety protocols being used by the company. After an emergency meeting at which management pledged to improve standards immediately, work resumed on Saturday.
That is what is known as a shot across the bows, and not just for Glencore.
